Different Directions

 

The demand for Vance's music from local Flute Circle Members, Flute customers and Performance Audiences led to the birth of this, his first album. Keeping to his belief that the Native American flute can go beyond the boundaries set by most recordings of the Native American flute this album of music presents a collection of new and legendary tunes, all performed to justify the title 'Different Directions'.

 

Many years ago Vance commenced a fascinating journey of discovery after reading a passage from a book that stated, 'There is nothing more beautiful than the sound of the Lakota flute'. Being already involved with music at that time, his natural desire was to discover more about this instrument. This 'desire' took him on a flute making journey that has spanned some 30 years, and which continues to this day. 'Different Directions' explores the excitement and the many moods of the Native American flute and includes several of his own compositions.
